I guess I was just so excited about making them I forgot I had to buy Green ones!! They still turned out Wonderful!! (but what isn't good thats fried right?) Fried Green Tomatoes!
-Make Sure you have Green Tomatoes! :) ha
-4 large Green Tomatoes

Cut off ends of tomatoes and slice into about 1/2 inch pieces. Then put slices into large bowl, add buttermilk and turn to coat each slice, Marinate for 5 minutes. Place large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil to come 2 thirds up the side of pan, heat oil to 325 degrees. In another wide bowl mix cornmeal, salt, and pepper. Working in Batches, remove tomatoes from buttermilk, shaking off excess and dip in cornmeal to coat each side. Also shake off the excess cornmeal. slip the slices into the oil in a single layer and fry until golden brown. 2-3 minutes on each side!
